Up next

So nationals is coming up next week, then on to Tour de Toona, Fitchburg and Cascade and I'm so excited! I LOVE LOVE Cascade because Bend, OR is the coolest town eva!

In non-cycling news......I treated myself to some nice bed sheets-it's been a couple of years;) and a new quilt ~$300 for all of it-DANG! But they are nice:)

I'm reading-It's all about the bike....it's a great book with lots of history, which is nice to learn how your current bike became what it is. Check it out.

Listening to: Pandora channel - The Allman Bros.....you can never go wrong with them!

Eating: smoothies! Frozen strawberries, peaches, blueberries with fresh banana, a bit of yogurt, nuts and juice = YUM! Cherries(thanks to my teammie Janel for getting me hooked:)), pears and nectarines. Also, fresh corn on the cob, sliced tomatoes and grilled veggies - oh yayyer!

Watching: I want to see Cars 2 sometime, maybe one of these road trips I can venture to the movies w/ some friends:) We shall see.....

Alrighty...until next time....

  1. Hi! I like your blog! I'm a Vicksburg-er too (well, I actually live across the river outside of Tallulah but work in Vburg). I just started cycling again after a back injury sort of destroyed most other sports for me...long story. But I used to pedicab in college and always wanted to road cycle so I finally got to it, and thankfully it has been wonderful on my back! I'd love to try some small races next year, any advice for an absolute beginner??
Good luck with the rest of your season!

  2. Advice:
    1. Listen and trust only 1 or 2 people, there are a million ways to become a better cyclist and if you try to incorporate it all together, it gets overwhelming FAST:)
    2. Get your race license through USA Cycling, you will be a cat. 4 and there are great races all around LA and MS with lots of support...they are SO MUCH FUN!!!
    3. Jump on in the races:)!!! From there you will start picking up on things pretty fast and there are lots of AWESOME girls in the women's races there, some good friends of mine now:) It's so much fun!!!!
